The Geographical Offices of the Syrian Democratic Alliance
Office Definition:
The geographical offices of the Syrian Democratic Alliance were established by the decision of the General Secretariat No. 55 dated 28/6/2024.
These offices cover several regions: Idlib, Northern Aleppo countryside, the Coast, Sweida, and the previously established Homs office. The geographical office is administratively affiliated with the leadership of the Alliance, represented by its General Secretariat, through the President of the Alliance, who is authorized to manage the relationship between the Alliance’s leadership and its geographical offices.
Office Objectives
The main objective of the office is to enhance the presence of the Alliance in its geographical area by spreading its principles, goals, and ideas. It also aims to recruit individuals and political or civil entities aligned with its vision and to coordinate with essential stakeholders across different sectors in the governorate. The geographical office is endowed with numerous roles and authorities, extending from the Alliance’s leadership down to all offices. The office elects its President, Vice President, and Secretary by the members and the office’s management.
Roles and Authorities within the Office
President of the Office:
Responsible for submitting weekly and monthly reports about the office to the President of the Alliance, sending an archive copy to the Alliance’s Secretary-General regularly, approving proposed activities and events, distributing tasks and activities, supervising their execution, leading meetings, and managing the responsibilities of other office members as needed.
Vice President of the Office:
Acts on behalf of the President in their absence.
Secretary:
Manages office meetings, records the minutes, and sends them to the President. Also archives all office activities and sends a monthly copy to the President of the Alliance.
Activities Coordinator:
Proposes, organizes, executes, and monitors activities while drafting reports about these activities to be sent to the President.
Media Officer:
Handles media coverage and reporting for all office activities in coordination with the head of the Alliance’s media office, including covering events, activities, and news from the geographical location for publication through the Alliance’s official channels.
Financial Officer:
Submits financial support requests to the Alliance leadership, supported by the required documents after approval by the President. They manage any financial support provided to the office for approved projects or activities and their respective budgets and submit financial reports to the President for forwarding to the head of the financial office and the Alliance leadership.
Activities and Events
Office Members:
Members are selected from residents of the geographical area, regardless of their places of residence, to work towards the office’s goals and execute and monitor its tasks. The geographical office engages in various activities and events in its locations, such as:
- Cultural and Intellectual Seminars:
Conducted at least once a month. - Distribution of Brochures and Statements:
Issued in the name of the Alliance.
- Peaceful Civil Movements:
Participating in popular movements under the Alliance’s name, raising banners agreed upon with the Alliance’s leadership and funded by the Alliance. - Communication:
Conducting at least one monthly networking meeting with individuals, entities, influencers, and community figures in the geographical area. - Article Publication:
Ensuring consistent publication of articles at least once a month. - Conducting Statistical Studies and Opinion Polls:
Addressing various issues within the governorate once a month. - Creating a Skills Bank:
Compiling a database of skilled individuals from the governorate.
