Global Organization for Civil Society  Advancement (GLOCA)

Establishment of GLOCA:

GLOCA was established in 2022 in Turkey as a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing civil society in response to the urgent need to promote human rights and support marginalized groups, particularly youth and women, in conflict zones.

GLOCA focuses on creating educational, professional, and academic opportunities through the use of technology and environmentally friendly tools, aiming to provide innovative solutions to societal issues impacted by conflicts.

Vision and Main Objectives of the Organization:

GLOCA’s vision is to build a unified and resilient society where youth play a key role in promoting democracy, human rights, and lasting peace. The organization aims to empower youth through education, leadership training, and the promotion of democratic values and civic participation. Additionally, GLOCA supports civil society by providing resources and comprehensive education.

Key Programs and Projects of GLOCA:

GLOCA manages several projects, including the “Shabab Pro” program, a digital platform designed to enhance the leadership and technical skills of Syrian youth using tools like Microsoft Office 365. Another key initiative is the Governance and Capacity Building program, which offers intensive training to civil society organizations to improve their performance and effectiveness.

Interaction with the Local Civil Society and Other Entities:

GLOCA engages with the local community by organizing youth forums and educational seminars aimed at promoting civic participation and open dialogue among youth. The organization also develops partnerships and collaborations with other organizations to achieve shared goals and enhance the impact of various initiatives at the community level.

Main Challenges Faced by GLOCA and How They Were Addressed:

GLOCA’s primary challenges include operating in conflict environments that lead to youth isolation and loss of hope. In response, the organization focuses on providing advanced technological programs like “Shabab Pro” to offer educational and communication opportunities for youth in these challenging environments.

Future Plans of the Organization:

GLOCA’s future plans include expanding the “Shabab Pro” program to include an additional 300 participants from various conflict zones and enhancing the organizational capacities of 20 entities within Syria. The organization also aims to empower 80 young individuals to become human rights advocates within their communities.
