Advisory Council:

The Advisory Council is one of the leading bodies of the Syrian Democratic Alliance.
It is responsible for overseeing the implementation of plans set by the Alliance’s leadership and providing necessary guidance to advance the Alliance’s work. The council comprises independent political figures and representatives from all political forces under the Alliance’s umbrella.

Objectives of the Advisory Council:

Similar to other offices within the Syrian Democratic Alliance, the Advisory Council has a range of objectives and functions, including:

  • Providing political advice to the Alliance leadership.
  • Developing political thought and awareness among Alliance members.
  • Encouraging intellectual discussions about Syria’s future.
  • Supporting national unity and working to unite various forces towards a common goal.
  • Monitoring and evaluating policies and overseeing the implementation of the Alliance’s proposed strategies and plans.

Principles of the Advisory Council:

The Advisory Council operates on several principles that serve as its roadmap:

  •  Transparency in explaining how the council functions and makes decisions.
  • Ensuring the participation of all relevant Syrian stakeholders.
  •  Maintaining a balance of power among the various political factions.

Challenges Facing the Advisory Council within the Syrian Democratic Alliance:

The council faces several challenges, including ideological differences and managing differing opinions among political forces. Additionally, foreign influence on internal decisions and limited resources present significant hurdles, along with the need to adapt to resource constraints. The importance of sustaining dialogue, fostering joint action, expanding efforts, and rallying both local and international support for the Alliance’s goals are among the most significant challenges the council must address.

The council is committed to overcoming these challenges under the motto, “Believe in what you have to master what you must do.
